I still wish they'd remake Siege
It was a 1992 title set in the Magic Candle world. Arguably the first RTS. People bash Bakshi's Lord of the Rings, but one thing his version of Return of the King did great was the Minas Tirith siege. It really gave you an idea of a months long ordeal gradually wearing the defenders down. That's something Siege captured perfectly. Daylight would last a certain amount of time then hostilities ceased at night. Wounded units where thrown in the hospital and wouldn't be available again until they were fully healed, usually two days or more. Each day the attackers would push a little farther in until you were desperately fending them off in the castle courtyard, hospital overflowing, praying to just make it to night again. Victory condition for attacker was to send engineers to run your flag up the castle pole and hold it for a day. Heroic last charges by the remaining few defenders to retake the flag. It's something no game has really done since.
