When you tell everyone that you have a worthwhile message that needs $5000 to get out, receive over $100k, photograph yourself in front of thousands of dollars of purchased toys for "research" that could have been accomplished faster and for free online, at best it sets you up as the John Romero of non-profits. A camera by itself wouldn't have been a huge deal, but when the final result is something a teenager or senior citizen could have put together in a fraction of the time using readily available free options, then it gets tossed into the pile of yet another boneheaded splurge purchase that's incompetently wasteful at best and an outright con at worse. Can you imagine if an activist in any area but videogames pulled this shit? Even with videogames, would anyone be defending this if it was a neckbeard doing it instead of an out of your league woman?
