Help me make spells
Help me make spells in the game I am working on? They aren't called spells in the game. They are programs. What I am going to do is make it so that two classes (UNIX Programmer and Hacker) acquire programs when they level up. Once they get a computer, they can run these programs against enemies that are also carrying computers with them. For the game's manual, I am actually going to write code that depicts what these programs would do in various languages. It may not be a complete program, due to space limitations, but what I present will be syntactically correct. I am going to try to include the source code for famous programs when possible, like the Creeper or Michelangelo virus. Anyway, here are the programs I have so far. If you have a suggestion for something I should put in this game, I would love to use it. Spells Flashlight A light from the programmer's computerwill illuminate the night. Eliminates the night combat penalties, and in fact adds a slight bonus for Trolls and Survivalists. Duration: 10 minutes times the programmer's level, capped at three hours. Sega VECTOR Attack 1-4 points of damage against a single foe, multiplied by level and with IQ bonus, using the code that causes Sega Vector monitors to <a href="http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9658">catch on fire</a>. Launch Eclipse Decrease the speed of a group of foes. Minor GPS Gives the co-ordinates of the current room, for mapping. gpfdist Causes confusion, stopping an enemy from doing anything that round as he has to now fucking configure Greenplum's file distribution program, and gpfdist certainly isn't going to tell you why it doesn't fucking work. Mass MAN Causes one group of foes to skip a round of combat, as their computers are told to display the manuals for several popular Unix commands. Diplomatic Cables Decrease the number of human enemies encountered by planting troll threads in their on-line communities, causing them to leave E.T. Pit Attack Enemy forced to escape a pit from the 2600 version of E.T. before regaining control of computer, causing 8-24 points of high blood pressure damage. <i>(I would love to replace this with something more annoying and less famous.)</i> SoundBlaster Shrieking sound from the MAME 0.32 version of Moon Cresta will emit from the deck's speakers, doing 1-8 points of damage to a group of foes. DoS Anti-program shell for denial of service. Disrupt Hologram Eliminates any holographic enemies DOX Releases info sensitive enough to make an enemy attack himself Anyway, that sort of thing. It would be a shame to not tap into the creativity of this forum. ICJ
