Things I wish were different: flexibility. Specifically when it comes to magic. Unless you start out with the right class, then you come across useful magic way too late for most first time players to bother investing in it. The first blacksmith selling a catalyst is extremely easy to miss (dude in a cell, near the ghost ruins that no sane new player would do over the undead burg) and the only faith spells I've found are a heal a homeward spell.
Finally got the drake sword, which seems to make every other weapon obsolete unless you dip into 35+ strength builds. Not seeing the love for the Balder Side Sword. The move set is worse than the Estoc with roughly the same damage, and once you start running into enemies who aren't staggered by their hits they both become nearly useless. Also not really seeing why you'd go with certain ascension choices (raw, crystal) when others seem clearly superior (fire, lightning vitality builds). Anyways: More flexible PvP- 4 cracked red eye orbs at the start of the game, no more until literally the end (no darkwraith till end either)? Your only other PvP choices are Forest and Londo asshattery where dedicated PvPers lie in wait to farm invaders with their own summoned phantoms. Most of the fun of PvP was dropping into unannounced to murder some guy, but it's an option you only get to do FOUR times the entire game (with disconnects counting as one). The non-existance of co op- I've constantly been laying summon signs down at the pre-boss bonfires and have yet to summon a single white phantom PC. Yet I'm constantly getting invaded whenever in human form. Where are these people getting the means for PvPing me? I'm not in the book of sin, not in the forest, not a darkwraith, not being invaded by darkwraiths. Are these people who saved their starting red orbs up to the depths? NG+ twinks who had access to the end game red orb merchant?
