Re: That sounds like a negative based on the Far Cry 2 part
I didn't play the second one. So it first off made me install and signup/login to UPlay, and I wasn't sure what the hell that was, some DLC peddling community horseshit for achievement whoring, but it knew me anyway with an old throwaway password I use for unimportant things. Then it's almost like grand theft auto meets a better shooter only with shitty roads and crappy radio stations. All great except for the constant pestering from the interface for me to get on with it and go do the main quest, like the game is paranoid I'm some guy who's only ever played Halo in my life and gets confused unless I see an arrow painted somewhere. But I guess there's a patch coming for that. And there's no arrows painted everywhere, but it's pretty dense with crap to be sidetracked by, and a huge world I've only see a tiny part of. This tiny part is pretty huge, which then reminds me of assassins creed in that I've had to climb 6 or so radio towers to open all the parts of this first map. I predict I'll be damn tired of reconfiguring radio towers by the endboss. So far it is highly addictive, so I also predict I myself will end up finishing it. Just running into the same patrolling pirates in the world stays fresh and loads of fun because it always plays out differently. So, I guess I'm saying the open world part of the gameplay seems pretty solid, even if the story ends up stupid or the radiotower gimick gets boring.
