Re: Second on Bloodlines

I found KoToR 1 solid, but....alright. Aside from technical issues, I found Bloodlines more fun and interesting in every way. Good dialogue and plot really carry an RPG (Planescape). Ignore ICJ's opinion to the contrary; Bloodlines completely trumps KotoR in that department. Maybe one of the characters in Bloodlines had some sort of similarity to the Fantastic Four and it shorted out his ability to enjoy the game.
I haven't yet gotten all the way through Bloodlines, so I was sort of hedging my bets. But so far, yeah, it's easily Troika's best game and a pretty good game regardless. Combat is just tough enough (for me, so it's probably quite manageable for others), character customization is as deep and diverse as you could ever hope for (in a game where you have to play a vampire and nothing else). I mean, compared to Bloodlines, the degree to which you can customize your Jedi in KOTOR is anemic (HAHA BLOOD JOKE).
Another advantage it has over KoToR is having much less dungeon crawling. I really got bored slogging through bases cutting down dozens of pushover enemies with my horrible party AI (and I'm still being bored by it in KoToR 2). Vampires only makes you crawl about 3-4 times the entire game. Yeah the nosferatu sewer level sucks, but so does the endless enemy respawning of the KoToR star forge, and at least you can quickly use cheats to spare yourself the sewer level.
What, you didn't like pausing in KOTOR and being completely unable from stopping your character or NPC from running down the hall or performing the next action in his/her queue, no matter what? Or to watch your ranged attack NPCs engage in melee, or your Jedi to suddenly drain his/her Force on Force attacks you didn't want? Of course, leveling is a little easier in KOTOR, since you never really level in Bloodlines in discrete intervals, just get points to upgrade willy-nilly (which I never did until I had to, of course).
