Gave up 45 minutes in. When does it get good?
Jesus, can you believe it's (was) 2010 and there are dungeon crawler developers who still haven't learned anything from Diablo 2? Diablo 2 - Stars you right in the thick of it. Within 5 minutes I'm putting points into skills and murdering monsters with my skeleton minions. Borderlands- Starts you with unskippable cutscene after unskippable cutscene, followed by an unskippable tutorial full of unskippable cutscenes featuring a robot everyone says is hilarious (but only if they meant "compared to the rest of the writing"). Is it to learn unique features that are hard to grasp? No! PRESS SPACE TO JUMP! HOLD ALT TO CROUCH! I know how to play an FPS, motherfucker! So over half an hour in and there's a lush list of features I haven't gotten access to yet: - Skill points - Class powers No difference at all between the classes so far except for the gun you start out with. To help ease this frustration, they make it as unappealing as possible to start over as different classes, since each restart puts you through the same 10 minutes of unskippable intro cutscene shit. All this time spent not having fun isn't even counting the mandatory .INI file tinkering you have to do. What a great game to convince 3 friends to play with you.
