EVERYTHING'S DUMB *puts points into talent tree*
There literally are two options, pushing the talents deeper into the tree or giving you a ton of spells each time you have enough points to go into the next tier of abilities. It's not like you have an entire tier of talents you just won't get for 30 levels. The condensed trees do result in some dumb filler options, but I really don't think "HEY I CAN MAKE A MINOR MISTAKE IN MY TALENT TREE, WHO TESTS THIS?" is a valid complaint. There just isn't a way to avoid lumping in a talent tree when you make it a hard rule that a talent cannot exist at a level when a spell isn't available and vice versa. You're either going to have to give the player a majority of utility early in the tree or you're going to have to give him a shit ton of spells earlier than is interesting. Though I'm sure they'll have a dialog to advice you you're wasting a talent point before the next expansion. The desire to have learning the abilities and talent trees more closely tied isn't really unreasonable, but it would just lead to even more annoying talent trees.
