WSJ is compromised as a Murdoch property

In my mind, the two legitimate sides of American political debate are not represented by Fox and MSNBC; they're really represented by the Wall Street Journal and National Public Radio. Most of the people I know are really listening to one of those two sides.
I'm not sure who represents the right anymore in a manner that isn't grotesquely obvious corporate advertising, at least as a concrete entity like an NPR or Fox. 9/11 and the Buckleys throwing in the towel with National Review marked the end of mainstreamed intellectual conservatives, as the turncoat commies came in swinging (that is, after all, how you know a real neo-conservative: they all wore the old fart equivalent of Che T shirts in college). NPR's still alright, but for conservatives who talk without being sockpuppets I think you have to dig into expert interest fields of commentary and backtrace from there, such as with professional war reporters with a conservative spin like Thomas Ricks.
