Re: ODDLY FAMILIAR
I am concerned that I have somehow misrepresented the game, based on your posts. I appreciate your opinion, and if I somehow failed to express what I meant to about the game, I hope I can clear that up here. Specifically, I see you are making an analogy between SC2 and Avatar. For one, I must say that I did not write that Avatar review, though you have credited it to me. Secondly, I am not quite sure what you are getting at with the analogy. If you are drawing comparisons between the "lameness" of the SC2 story vs. the Avatar story, hey, I guess I must agree with you. If all there was to SC2 was the story, it definitely would not have gotten such high marks in my estimation. My actual review of Avatar was much more critical, because the medium of movie is primarily a storytelling one! That is the reason you buy the ticket, and on this level, Avatar was a failure. SC2's story may be paper-thin and amateur, but it is most definitely not the reason I recommend people "buy this ticket". Even while I was enjoying it, I knew that playing the campaign was the beginning of my SC2 experience, not the whole of it. Completing the campaign, as flight instructors say, is your "ticket to learn". After that is when the true beauty of the game can be fully enjoyed. Again, I apologize if my review did not accurately convey my feelings, and I look forward to addressing further issues you may have, with either the review or the game itself.
