The sound was fucked up because the game was broken and not finished. That you liked this is the most surprising reveal of Caltrops since we learned that Quentin didn't have AIDS. If a game features weapons that breaks it's a catastrophic failure, but a game that ships with a build that breaks is OK? Anyway, I can only feel so bad for not completing a game that wasn't finished. If it takes two years of post-release fan patching to get it stable ... I don't even have anything after the if: it took two years of patching to get it halfway presentable by people not involved in its original creation. Hey, it worked for Nethack and Spacewar.
