SOLVED: "Columns UI" makes Facets invisible
Haha. Putting the Console in a facets tab shows a log of what has played, providing clues about which playlist may be active, and mostly avoids the (otherwise common) situation of performing a search to find the track that is currently playing. Unlike WinAmp, Foobar's search time does not increase super-linearly with corpus size. UI is not laggy (except Album List window). The "Everything as Playlist" model strains under all the UI items shitting auto-playlists into my tab bar. "Save all Playlists" is a nice touch, at least, recognizing that those many playlist tabs can come to hold a lot of state. NEXT PROJECT: use foobar to fill my ipod. I notice that IPod manager and Columns UI share a common author. Wish me luck!
