more useless stuff!

Couldn't disagree more; melee will take you through the whole game no problem. The flamethrower is indeed the best weapon by far, but you can use it with no problem even if you haven't put any points into Ranged at all.
But why would you want to use cool guns and go with some geeky samurai sword in the modern world? If you MUST go melee, the most powerful sword in the game (i think) is extremely easy to miss unless you have a high inspection skill. It's in some ghetto apartments very late in the game in case you're looking.
Auspex is a little bit cool for seeing in the darker parts of the sewers when you're looking for the Nosferatu, but that's about it.
Except you're supposed to cheat past those sewers, so it's not even an issue. I just thought of two more useless skills: inspection and research. Inspection makes some items sparkle so it's easy to find them. I take it since Bill is an OC that he'll comb over every pixel with the mouse, so that shouldn't be a problem. Most of the things it points out are either obvious or not important, with some very rare exceptions that you'll need a very high inspection skill to see (the sword). Research just blows. It allows you to use the occasional book you find (I found about 3-4 all game) that will raise a stat. With the points you put into research you could probably just raise the stats yourself. If you end up with a better deal by going research then using the books, it'll take awhile, you'd have to find every book in the game, and even then I'm not sure you'd even break even.
