Re: No whore beatings! Hooray!

What do you think the smile meant? He was pro-American? Or he just liked pulling the dirty admission out of you?
I don't know. I tried to win over Iraqis by being anti-American, but I was surprised that most of them gave the impression they were indifferent towards America. Maybe they're full of shit and just too frightened to speak out, but for instance, there was one kid who was in Syria by himself with the rest of his family in Falluja and I was, like, "Do you like America?" "American OK." "I don't like Americans." "..." "I think they're annoying... Do you know what annoying means?" "..." "It means... bad. Bad Americans." "American OK."
Damascus has KFCs though, so really he could treat that as Western Mind 101.
The thing with western fast food in places like that, though, is it's considered exotic and priced through the roof. In Delhi, McDonalds was considered a place you could take a girl on a date without shame. There were signs saying shit like, "Authentic Western Dishes". Except the Big Macs were chicken instead of beef and fucking shit.
