Re: WHOA POSTING ON A MOTHERFUCKING AIRPLANE

Feel free to post and brag about how problem-free your holiday travel went
The Syrian major (or whatever) at the border couldn't find New Zealand on his handwritten list of acceptable countries, so after some thought, he said I had to pay him $105 (?!?!?) in New Zealand dollars but he absolutely would NOT accept the equivalent in US/Euro/Syrian pounds! Where the fuck am I going to find $NZ at the Turkish/Syrian border where they don't even accept Turkish Lira because they're frightened it will replace their bullshit currency? So, I was fucked. The bus left without me, despite the protests of some nice Canadians (who told me later that the bus constantly detoured to unload smuggled petrol so that a 2 hour trip took 4 hours) , and I was stuck at the border with the Syrian army, who would you believe, are a bunch of fucking assholes. Eventually, I had to pay the major $US150 but even then he acted like a total asshole about it pretending that he had done me a huge favour. Then, the soldier who was supposed to be putting my VISA together after the major had given the go ahead freaked out. Everyone was freaking out, actually. I've never seen such stressed people! Everyone in a uniform looked on the verge of stabbing someone. It was funny enough that I don't regret getting fucked over to be able to see it. After about 5 minutes of panicking over something the soldier threw my passport a few feet at another officer and walked off with his hands on his head! This new officer was a little less stressed (sometimes he even talked normally (when he wasn't being bullied by other officers)) and after about half an hour, I was able to get the fuck out of there, and conveniently for Christmas, I've arrived in the city with the highest percentage of Christians in the Middle East (20%).
