[/quote] I've only read one OSC book, so for all I know it's dissimilar to his other work. But, if Ender's Game is at all representative, he's a good storyteller in the ways that Asimov isn't. Er, wasn't. I don't finish the majority of books I start, mostly because I find the prose to be a chore to slog through. Whatever its faults - and there are many - the pages turn quickly in Ender's Game. I don't read forewards and afterwords, so I never saw that OSC went smug before his book starts. What the fuck is that? Let's say that all the things that he claims happened happened: <i>you wrote one of the most famous books in the world.</i> The book speaks for itself. If you are still tormented by past aggression, the fact that Ender's Game will never, ever be out of print is your giant QED. To add anything to it at all means you're an indefensibly tedious bitch. The most satisfying victory one can have, in life, Caltrops and everything in between, is the need to say nothing further. the dark and gritty...Ice Cream Jonsey![/quote]
