we've been neglecting the wii
or worse, playing it with the kid so just using the earliest skill-building stuff. so I'm listening intently. one thing I'll say about smash brothers is that it isn't a fighting game, it's a party game. it's relentlessly disrupted by random interventions, meaning it's dependent more on luck than skill. that can be deeply infuriating. I like zelda on the wii, but I like zelda games, so. we finished goo recently and it gets steadily stupider but it is enjoyable for short stints. had a great time with paper mario, the one where you can turn the old-school looking game 3D for brief periods; there is also some interesting gameplay with a variety of equippable "pixies" and using the wiimote to reveal secret objects by directing it at the TV. you're on rails for most of it but it's a fun ride.
