Re: I assume you're talking to me as she doesn't live in Toronto.

You don't need a gang, you need a team. Go talk to strangers. They'll take your money and you'll make the team.
Let's be honest here, QB. Anyone over the age of 25 who actively pursues competitive team sports and isn't a professional athlete is sketchy. There's nothing worse than a bunch of adults grunting and sweating it out on a basketball court. As you've related in your sad tennis tale, halfway through everyone separates into two camps: those who don't give a shit anymore and wonder why they're wasting their time trying to put a ball in a small hoop, and those who care too much and get angry that everyone else is slacking. It's easy to see which is the more pathetic group (both of them), but the worst are the guys who come back the next week because they've already spent money on their special sneakers that are the very best sneakers to wear for playing basketball. You're kidding yourself if you think it's "fun," (it isn't, and you don't think this). You can't talk to regular people about your whores and your job failings and your idiot girlfriend, and as you've said you can only wank and sew for so many hours a day, so you're looking to figure out what "normal" people do in order to have some sort of social interaction. Sadly, you seem to be basing your decisions on beer commercials. The proper way to play basketball after 25 is to stroll around the court in jeans and a shirt, occasionally bouncing the ball and then taking a pretend-half-hearted shot now and again, all while talking about your job (sorry), wife (sorry), and kids (sorry). The minute anyone suggests actually getting a game started, you look at your watch (sorry?) and say you're needed somewhere (SORRY) and jump into your car (Sor, ah, forget it already).
