another Square PS1 game that didn't suck

For a brief time on the Playstation, Square decided to branch outside their usual genre and experiment with making games that didn't suck. From this we got the likes of FF: tactics, Bushido Blade, and now Einhander.
YOU FORGOT TOBAL! >:(
Parasite Eve. Fun action RPG that cuts out all the usual console RPG filler bullshit and more actiony combat. Since the bullshit filler is cut out, the game is nicely fastpaced with almost no slow parts. It also means it's only about 9-10 hours long. Several grossout The Thing type cutscenes. I remember being largely impressed with them back in 1998, not sure how they'd hold up now. Avoid the sequel though. They threw out everything fun about the first Parasite Eve (by replacing past paced with slow moving boredom) and ditched the action RPG commbat in favor of a more Resident Evilish system where enemies took 100 bullets to kill. Magic is no longer a meter that recharges automatically in battle (encouraging you to freely blast away while still maintaining some sort of rationing strategy) and switches over to magic points that you have to restore with items, making you anally ration them (not that you'll use magic much, heal is the only useful one).
