They are small tubes, and they wouldn't glow much on their own. That's marketing for you, I guess. Not unlike that weird rainbow lamp on the SP-555. Re: adding tubes to other synths, I haven't seen that feature in anything else besides electribes... I guess the assumption is that if you want the tube sound, you'd use a tube preamp after the synth in your signal chain.[/quote] Yeah that makes more sense, as the Electribes are supposed to be relatively stand-alone.
