that philip seymor hoffman movie I was trying to remember the name of
I had been thinking about it since hearing the opie+anthony bit about gambling (it was posted somewhere on caltrops already look it up) but I couldn't remember the name therefor it wasn't deserving my attempts to find out, but today I couldn't stand not knowing anymore because it was a pretty good movie http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0285861/
[when asked why he'd never been to Niagra Falls] Dan Mahowny: I don't want to use up all of Canada too soon. (:D) Psychologist: How would you rate the thrill you got from gambling, on a scale of one to 100? Dan Mahowny: Um... hundred. Psychologist: And what about the biggest thrill you've ever had outside of gambling? Dan Mahowny: Twenty. Dan Mahowny: How much for the bags? Car Rental Girl: They're free for customers. Dan Mahowny: Great, can I have one? Car Rental Girl: Well, you're not a customer, so... Dan Mahowny: Okay... how much for the bags?
the climax of the movie is where he has stolen the last bit of money he will ever have access to, after he has ripped off every family member and friend and coworker, then takes it to the casino and is up by about 20 million dollars, enough to pay back every debt and still never have to work a day in his life, but keeps playing until eventually his giant pile of chips shrinks to nothing somehow the movie makes you feel bad for a guy that could have gotten nearly the same thrill from a game that can be found on pretty much everyone's cell phone for free
