Re: Spoilers here too.
Pistol: I used them all. Since upgrading gave a higher sell price, I'd upgrade all my weapons and then sell it when a better one was a available. I think I maxed out power, firing speed, and reload time on the Blacktail and had the capacity up to 24. It was a pretty kickass weapon at that point, unless I was surrounded by several enemies. Shotgun: Used them all. Got most of the upgrades for the Striker. Shotgun was my main weapon, and then pistol. Rifle: Used them both. Sniped when there was the range or I was low on ammo for shotgun and pistol. Revolver: Found the Broken Butterfly, bought the Killer7. Upgraded the killer 7 to about 30.0 damage. The magnum was my boss killing weapon. TMP: Almost never used. I'd by one if I was ridiculously low on ammo and happened to have a bunch of TMP ammo in my inventory, but would then immediately sell it when I got more ammo for other guns. Was a nice throw away weapon since it was cheap and the upgrades were cheap. Mine thrower: Never touched it. Rocket Launcher: Only used it if I found one or was given one, which I think was twice the whole game. If you attempt Salazar (thet little girlboy, right?) without it, he's not hard at all. As long as you have quick enough reflexes to do the button combo dodge and can run to the side when he tries to bite you, he can't touch you. I think he hit me once, and I killed him using only the pistol and rifle. I'd also like to add the fight with the 2 Gigantes as one of the low points of the game. I drained, like, all of my fucking ammo on that fight, even considering you could drop one in the lava. It was neat the very first time, but that fight was just tedious. I just started Professional difficulty, and I only got up to the first town and I can already tell it's going to kick my ass. Near as I can tell, there's no difference in ammo/health (yet), but it seemed like there were a billion more Ganados in the first town. I got decrapitated by a chainsaw :(
