The ironic part is the trust fund hipster gentrification of Bedford has turned it into yet another generic coffee house/thrift store stripmall resembling nothing of the old neighborhood and pricing out all native culture. My theory on hipsters is that it's just training for future Yuppie-dom. They're both based on outdoing your peers on meaningless shit. To the hipster it's obscure band knowledge and the degree they mock the mainstream. To the yuppie it's how successful they are in the mainstream and who owns the nicer car and home audio system (owns a Bose, claims "you're not getting the full experience" unless you have $100 spaker cables). Today's hipster is tomorrow's Patrick Bateman discussing music and business cards. Keanu Reeves documents this transformation nicely in My Own Private Idaho.[/quote]
