Peter Molyneux's The Movies
::
Fabio gave up on this movie halfway through, like it was some sort of GAME.
Even if you guessed the ending, it's still a good flick. Also, a radical departure for Adrian "Flashdance," "Nine 1/2 Weeks," "Fatal Attraction" Lyne. When I was at film school, he came out to show us the film and talk afterwards. The format of these talks was always the same: every Thursday, a new release was shown and someone either directly or peripherally involved in the making of the flick sat on stage with Charles Champlin (lazy sometime-film reviewer for the LA Times) and answered inane questions from Champlin (Champlin, to Gus Van Sant, regarding the James LeGros character in Drugstore Cowboy: "He looked like some kind of retard!"), and then more inane questions from us, the students. Lyne got the same, tired questions everyone got ("What was the budget?" "What was the shooting schedule?"), like those would prove helpful to anyone, and then of course all the GIRLS started peppering him with questions about why he is such a MISOGYNIST and clearly HATES WOMEN. Because of his other movies. And he was like, "Fuck you cunts, I wouldn't even shoot you with your clothes ON." Well, he didn't really say that, but he should have. They're all failed documentarians now, anyway.
