There are indications that the election was rigged, and that previous elections were rigged. But it's difficult to prove. I already linked to an article on Slate (I guess you just read the headlines there) that explained why some of the data that people thought PROVED it was rigged was in fact anything but proof. So we still don't know for certain what happened over there. But to answer your question more directly, Hitch's article also had nothing to say about whether the elections were rigged, except that if they were, they probably weren't rigged by the British government.[/quote]
