Agoraphobia is the fear of leaving one's apartment, or "agoring" as the Romans
I learned all about agoraphobia on a very special episode of the Golden Girls. In brief, Dorothy was on a volunteering kick so she signed up to visit some shut-ins. Imagine her surprise when the little old man she thought she would be visiting turned out to be a handsome young stud, as was the fashion for differently-abled people on '80s sitcoms. He ended up falling madly in love with her as she was the only woman he'd seen in ages and then I missed the last act. Presumably they boned and Dorothy turned out to be a demon in the sack and they both lived happily ever after until she died and left him all her money and he bought a jet ski and solved beach-oriented crimes for the remainder of the series, which was never cancelled because everybody loved it so much. Whereas what I suffer from is a potent mix of Social Anxiety Disorder (S.A.D.) and Lazyness. What that means to the layman is that I could leave my apartment, it just hasn't happened yet, and if it did I'd probably be mildly uncomfortable. Which is like 100% more uncomfortable than I am now, so really what choice do I have?
