Years ago, remember finding from the OMM forums some LA Times hit piece on the gaming press. So at the same time one of the magazine hacks on the Qt3 forums gave me that answer when I trolled them about it. "We're not journalists, more like hobbyist writers." Wish I could remember who said it, but I'd like to thank them now for clarifying everything for me back then. Nothing's changed since then, as the dude from RPS lays out matter-of-factly on his blog. He goes about damning his profession, really. I guess he doesn't see all the free swag and trips as affecting his integrity, and good for him, but he ain't everybody. |
