I thought Bane was an okay boss fight to cut the player's teeth on, if only a little lame, but they proceed to make it a staple of the game. The Scarecrow thing was a let down, in that the beauty of his character is that he can make people see really crazy shit, except Bruce Wayne whose hallucinations are always the same fucking thing. However it really just slaps you in the face with the Poison Ivy, Killer Croc, and Joker fights.
I really hope the sequel addresses this shit, since Batman is about the villains and little else. The fighting was fun as hell even though it boiled down to teleporting from enemy to enemy and kicking them in the face, and only was a pain in the ass when you had to fight two banes with a swarm of thugs toward the end. Even then it was my own fault for trying to get the 40 hit combo thing.
Also the end where Bane gets the crate of Titan, who cares? Just need to throw batarangs in his eyes some more. For having such good presentation they really dragged ass on the boss battles. |
